University of Maryland Eastern Shore transfer guard Justin Monden has committed to the Indiana Hoosiers, giving head coach Darian DeVries another backcourt addition through the portal.
The 6-foot guard spent the 2025-26 season at Maryland Eastern Shore, averaging 6.0 points and 1.6 assists in 32 appearances. Before that, he played two seasons at Division II Georgia Southwestern State University, where he showed more offensive production and perimeter shooting ability. This was particularly on display as a sophomore, a season in which Monden averaged 12.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists and shot 37.7% from downtown. In total, Monden appeared in 53 games (32 starts) for the Hurricanes, posting per-game averages of 7.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
Monden also has a connection to Indiana assistant coach Thomas Carr, who previously coached at Word of God Christian Academy in North Carolina, Monden’s high school program.
The commitment gives Indiana additional point guard depth as the Hoosiers continue reshaping their roster for the 2026-27 season.
